Non-prescription drugs called over-the-counter inhalers are used to quickly relieve moderate asthma symptoms including wheezing, shortness of breath, or tightness in the chest.  Bronchodilators, such as epinephrine or racepinephrine, which help widen the airways to facilitate breathing, are commonly found in these inhalers.  OTC inhaler are not a long-term solution and shouldn't be used in place of prescription medications for severe or chronic asthma, even though they may be useful for moderate symptoms that occur sometimes.  It's crucial to utilise them sparingly because excessive use may result in negative consequences like anxiety or an elevated heart rate.
