The Metechi Garlic stands as a rugged hardneck variety—or, as some would call it, a Marble Purple Stripe—infused with bold flavor and fortified with great resilience for your kitchen and garden. This particular variety usually produces large and sturdy bulbs, with 5 to 7 large cloves wrapped in purple-striped crisp skins that maintain freshness for up to six months . Under heat, it becomes somewhat more tender, making it highly suitable for heavy roasts, stews, and spicy sauces.
